Set Up Your Water Cost Rate Plan

Set up a Water Cost Rate Plan to see estimated water-use costs for your selected FlowCue device. The plan applies the water rates you choose to that device’s measured water use; it does not pay or change your utility bill.

If you have more than one home or device, first select the one whose costs you want to set up.

Only a home owner can create or change a rate plan.

Open Water Cost Rate Plan

1. Tap the Settings tab.
2. Under Home, tap Water Cost Rate Plan.

You can also open the Water Cost tab and select Edit Rate Plan after a plan has been set up.

Choose a FlowCue Managed Plan

When FlowCue has a rate plan for your home’s postal code, the app shows it as FlowCue managed. It includes the utility, billing frequency, unit, and whether the rates are flat or tiered.

Tap Use FlowCue managed plan to use it for your cost estimates. FlowCue maintains managed plans when provider rates are updated.

Before checking for a managed plan, make sure your Home Profile has the correct postal code. FlowCue uses it to look for a plan available for your area.

FlowCue regularly adds municipalities and updates existing managed plans. Your municipality may not be available yet; if so, create a custom plan from your water bill.

Create or Customize Your Own Plan

If a managed plan is not available, tap Create your plan. You can also tap Customize rates instead to make a personal copy of a managed plan, or Customize rates to change the plan you are using.

Have a recent water bill ready. Enter:

• Your water provider
• The pricing type: Flat rate or Tiered rates
• The price per unit shown on the bill
• For tiered rates, each usage limit and price; FlowCue applies the final tier to the remaining usage
• The billing unit: cubic metres (m³), CCF/hundred cubic feet, gallons, or litres
• Your billing frequency
• The first date of a billing period from a recent bill

Tap Save custom plan or Save changes when you are finished.

Your custom plan is controlled by you. It is not updated automatically if your utility changes its rates. If a FlowCue managed plan is available later, you can return to this screen and choose Use FlowCue managed plan instead.

Where to See Cost Estimates

Open the Water Cost tab to see estimates by billing period, month, and year. FlowCue also uses the plan for the cost figures shown with your water use.

These are estimates for water-use charges. Fixed charges, taxes, and utility-specific adjustments are not included, so the amount may differ from your utility bill.
