Calibration Troubleshooting Steps
Flow uses a simple two‑step calibration. Both steps require running a small stream of water.
Step 1 — Position Calibration
Flow learns its exact position relative to your water meter. This ensures the sensor is properly aligned and detecting the magnetic pattern correctly.
Step 2 — Consumption Calibration
Flow verifies that it can accurately measure water usage for your specific meter model. Once Step 1 succeeds, Step 2 almost always passes on the first try.
If a calibration step fails, here are a few things to try before repeating the process:
Confirm that your device is installed as shown below. Ensure the device is parallel to the pipes and centered on the meter. The Flow logo should be facing upwards, and there should be nothing between the sensor and the meter (including strap).
If you still can’t calibrate, you may want to try moving the device down on the meter slightly.
