Controlling Your Shutoff Valve

Your Flow device allows you to control the shutoff valve directly from the app. This lets you quickly open or close water flow to your home.

Valve Control Basics

On your dashboard, you will see the Valve Card.

• The valve status is displayed as:

  • OPEN — Water is flowing normally
  • CLOSED — Water flow is shut off

• The main button allows you to:

  • Close the valve if it is currently open
  • Open the valve if it is currently closed

Changing Valve State

To change the valve position:

1. Locate the Valve Card on your dashboard
2. Tap the main button:
   • Close Valve to stop water flow
   • Open Valve to restore water flow

You may be asked to confirm before closing the valve.

Advanced: Force Valve Control

If the valve appears stuck, unresponsive, or in an unknown state, you can use Force Mode.

1. Tap the expand icon on the Valve Card

2. Two buttons will appear:

   • Open Valve
   • Close Valve

3. Tap either option to force the valve into a known position

This is useful if the valve state is out of sync or did not update correctly.

What to Expect

• The app will show a temporary state such as:

  • Opening…
  • Closing…

• The valve may take a few seconds to fully move

• The final state will update automatically once completed
